Hi Dave

You mentioned you were staying at the Barcelo Lodomar. We found the hotel ideal. It was spotlessly clean, the food good and the staff really friendly. It is in a mainly residential area facing the salt flats but the only down side is that there's not much to walk to during the evening - so we retired to the bar!

Hi

Thanks Alan and Janet for the information on the hotel, a few more weeks till we are out there. I bet the bar was the best place to be, after all the wind and rain about last week.

Hi All,
Just found this site after being subtley redirected from another site, it seems to be used by a lot more owners.
We bought a penthouse apt. in green building, phase 1 in April 06 through AmbaSun and PSI and have just returned after five days of terrible weather on 30/1/07.
The development seems to be really progressing now, with hundreds of palm trees planted, much of the sidewalks construted in a red / black block paving and many of the structural works completed to the apts. The show villas are particularly impressive. The programme of building in Spain seems to differ so much from that of the UK as they are starting to landscape various areas with natural stone etc at this early stage. They tell me it is still on track for completion in Dec 07 which apparently is very unusual for Spain.
Does anybody have any info on the Golf Club house ? It is not clear to me if it will be eventually situated in the existing sales office (which to me is just a glorified industrial unit) or will there be a separated building overlooking the course with bar facilities etc.
Regards
Ray

Hi Ray

Glad you found us - those little subtle hints are amazing!!!

Re the Club house - I was told some time ago and we are trying to find out if its true, that the existing sales office building would be the greenkeepers den and equipment housing as I also found out that the sewerage plant will be just near it as well.  So, I can't imagine they would put the Club House there.  On the plans it is shown near the top of the Aqua Driving Range (which I think looks fantastic).

Anyway, welcome to you and hope you enjoy the site.

Hi All

We are going out soon to visit the development, hopefully we will be able to find out a little more regarding the golf course fees, licence, club house the 10th or 19th :D.

Perhaps Pete and Fiona can update with some information regarding these questions, over to you Pete and Fiona ;)

Hi

The club house will be across the road from the existing sales office and up the road a bit near the aqua driving range.  Opposite the sales office there is a huge hole (pit) and we have been informed that this is the underground water treatment works for recycling all the waste water from properties on site which will be used to water the golf course.

Yes the paths are going in finished in red and grey block paving.  Lots of lovely landscaping as well.

What is worrying us is that they donīt seem to be progressing the commercial centre buildings.

Lots of other bits of info that we will take up to Coventry

Hi All,
I'm sorry to keep banging on about the golf club house, but....... and it's a question close to my heart..... do we know if it will have proper bar facilities and maybe a sunny terrace for something to eat (and drink).
My experience seems to be that if these facilities are good then it's a great place to meet up (for non-golfers too) and relax after a hard day looking for my golf ball.
We recently went to Roda GC and were dissapointed with their effort .

Hi Ray

I know what you mean about Roda GC - but the building there is only temporary and they are in the throes of building the clubhouse proper!

Hi Sandra,
Thanks for the info re Roda GC, I didn't know that.
Maybe they will develop their new club house when they move on with building the hotel.

Hi Bernie and Annette

Welcome to the forum,

If you have any queries or questions, just make a posting on the forum. Most of the members on the forum are I think, new to purchasing property in Spain so we all try and help each other out where we can regarding questions and queries.

We have two valuable contributors to the forum, Mike Probert for golf and Q our roving reporter.

I hope this helps.

Dave

Hi Bernie & Annette,
Welcome to the forum.
I'm also quite new to this site, which appears to be used by many of the owners. I have found it to be very informative and interesting and if you get chance I suggest you take time out to review the many previous topics discussed.

Hi

The person to talk to in the Sales Office is Teresa - she is very knowledgable and gets the answers if she doesn,t.  She is there Monday thru Friday but not at weekends.  The weekend girls do not have much knowledge at all.

Hope this helps
