Hi all.

Just thought I would mention a couple of things, I work with a lady who's elderly mother and aunt got mugged at knife point in Los Alcazares >:(  It was on the walk way that takes you down to the beach from the bottom of the tourist strip, the hotel being on your left.

Also at San Javier airport they had a weighting machine for hand luggage, they were getting approx every 5th bag weighed. It was placed right at the gate, I was 1/2 kilo over but they said OK.

Lastly big thank you to Sandra and her team for putting on a great bash, as usual ;D

Bob and Kush.

Update from Lauren event organiser, re the Sucina events taking place this weekend.

Saturday 8th

10.00 - Mountain bike race - Please be behind the cemetery at 9.30am

17.00 - Crazy car race & Fancy dress parade

We will also have the British Peña open. (For those of you who don't know what this is, it is a small marquee where we have a few tables & chairs) This is available for all of us to use. The idea is to bring your own food and drinks and generally mix with everyone there. We will also have some BBQs set up.

Sunday 9th (British Day)

12.30 - We will be offering around "A taste of Britain" to the Spanish. People have kindly donated food (such as sausage rolls, cheese & Pineapple etc) and we will have bucks fizz for the adults and "British" drinks for the children to try.

13.00 - Children's Activities

19.30 - X Factor competition (Please email if you would like to take part or use the entry form in Franc-Louise).

22.00 - Live music with "After Midnight". I have personally chosen this group after seeing them perform in the village in the Summer. The singer is English and the group are Spanish. They do a real good mix of music for all to enjoy.

Again the peña will be open. There is a paella competition that starts at 13.00. (I will be entering) and if anybody else is brave enough please let me know! The BBQs will be available, we will also have Welsh cawl, cottage pie, Spanish tortillas and of course my paella!! Feel free to bring along other food- the idea is to have a real mix where by we will offer our food to the Spanish to try and hopefully we will be offered theirs!!

Sadly, the barbeque that was planned for Saturday, 14 January, has had to be postponed, out of respect for the Mayor's brother, who sadly passed away yesterday.

I will be in touch once I know when the barbeque will go ahead.

Kind regards

Mosa Trajectum developer to invest 250 million euros, in building hotel and clubhouse at Mosa Trajectum. Due to the opening of Corvera Airport, shame they did not look after the development from the start?

Are they being over optimistic with regards to future sales of property at the moment, both the developer and the financing bank where / are in financial difficulties.

El aeropuerto de Corvera reactiva la inversión en Mosa Trajectum

El promotor Ronald Ras invertirá 250 millones de euros en construir un hotel de 4 estrellas plus y en acondicionar los campos de golf.

I would imagine too that the residents are pretty hacked off at money being spent thus - apparently and alledgedly  the community there has no street lighting as they cannot afford it.  However, inho I suppose on the other hand you can't blame the developer for wanting to upgrade what is there in order to finish off the project because of the possibility of increased business because of Corvera Airport.   I wonder if the developer on La Tercia might have the same thoughts............. about finishing things off as we are within spitting distance of Mosa!?

On driving through La Tercia village it seems that the old Rainbow Restaraunt, has changed names to the Grumpy Chef.

Does anyone have any information on meals, opening times, has it opened yet?

Hi all,

Looking for a bit of help from any golfers out there who have a bit of experience in playing a selection of courses in the area - we have some friends who are keen golfers coming out to vist in May / June and they will be looking to play 5 courses during their week in Spain.  What are the best courses and has anyone got any recommendations on how to get the best prices, etc  ?  They both play off around 10 btw.

The only course other than La Tercia which I have played is Roda (a couple of years back ) which I thought was pretty good.

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated

Thanks

Gordon & Elaine

Hello Gordon and Elaine,

In the region there are a lot of beautiful courses:

Peraleja
Las Colinas
El Valle
Roda
Las Ramblas
Compoamor
La Manga

It is very easy to book your green fee with the assistance of Mike Probert from Costa Blanca Green Fee.

You can find a link to his site at the home page of this site.

Have a lot of golf pleasure.

Hi,

Frans is so right there are many fantastic courses. We are very lucky to have a central location to them all.

If I were to recommend five to play, they would be in the order of.

Roda Golf
Campoamor
Elle Valle
Las Colinas
Lo Romero

It would be interesting to hear what others would have as their five to recommend?

As Frans said we always use Mike Probert to book green fees as he offers such good discounts - http://www.costa-blanca-greenfees.com

What a great week it would be to play five different courses. I hope your friends have a super time whatever courses they decide to play.
