And, fantastic news, the Beach Club opens officially tomorrow - yippee!  It's  12 euros per person for the round trip from the Golf car park at the Resort to the Beach club which includes minibus transfers and the ferry from Santiago and return. 

I personally can't wait to try it, but will have to wait until next year now I think.

These are the latest deals on offer from Roda before any discounts owners and their guests are entitled to (i.e. owners without golf rights get a further 20% discount on the green fees and 10% discount in the Casa Club restaurant).

Between 08.00 and 14.00 2 fees plus buggy Euros 130         4 green fees plus 2 buggies  Euros 208

After 14.00                      2 fees plus buggy Euros 95           4 green fees 2 buggies         Euros 160

Twilight golf is now available after 17.00  for Euros 36 each reduced to 32.50 if you book for 4 and this still includes tapas and a drink in Casa Club.

Unlike the ridiculous Polaris fees, the Roda green fees look very reasonable and I will look forward to playing there this summer.

Let's hope the company UGR appoint to run the course take a similar approach.

Until I have got time to learn Spanish, I am afraid I am going to have to click on the "English" button and I am sure I am not the only one!  But I can converse a little, but its the technical stuff that gets me!!

and Paul, I agree with your comments about Roda.  Did you know that Roda is now a PGA European training base with the Academy on site and hosting all sorts of good competitions and with Mike Malone, the Devere General Manager (of the golf course, beach club and restaurants and the hotel which is just about to start being built) are all under the DeVere Brand.  He has brought staff over who have worked at The Belfry and were involved with him when he ran Ryder Cup events (twice) at The Belfry - so I think the omens are very good for Roda Golf.  Apparently, it has really good reviews plus I think it is a cracking resort.

Trouble is, UGR need really to pull something out of the hat to compete with that - but I am sure they will think of something after they have "fixed" the resort!

Roda Golf have announced thta in 2009 Golf Green Fees will be reduced to Euros 65 from the current 80.
This is the general rate and owners and members will receive their discounts off of this rate.

It would appear that Roda have reduced golf fees even further from 15th June to 15th September to 45 Euros between 12.00 and 4.50. Twilight is still available after 5.00 at 38 euros including drink and tapas.

These prices are before any owner/guests discounts.

Competition for golf in Spain is obviously hotting up, not merely for the summer as Polaris recently offered a 30 euro twilight deal after 3.00 pm on all their courses.

Good news for all prospective golfing visitors to the region.
