patio, garden or decking work required
« on: July 09, 2011, 04:03:36 PM »
i have a ground floor apt in rb15 the patio is 75% tiled. I would like the remaining bit either decked, paved or grassed. I was quoted 1000euro for tiles which is just crazy, is there anyone offering a solution at a reasonable price? If so please get in touch.

Hi,

You could try this company we used to astroturf part of our patio area, Tigerturf website www.tigerturf.es tel 902 110 221. Probably the price to turf your remaining section of patio, = 450 / 550 euros i am just guessing.

Hi

You might want to try Angelo who is permanently resident in RB12.1 (next to Jane the RB12.1 President)

Angelo has access to local tradesmen who are very reasonable. They did some tiling and repairs on our behalf and did a good job.

Yes we recommended John 12 months back when we had him fit our window, very reasonable.

The new problem in our apartment is with the roller shutter door. The spool on the top winder are breaking.Having the broken one replaced either by a plastic or a light metal one.The metal one costs 50 euros. I went through John Berine in the office to get the Spanish guy to come out. I think he did about 4 last week alone.

Hi Gaz,
We had the same problem with our patio door roller blind when we were out in May, John Biene in the office got a spanish guy to come out  and fix it. Design fault by all accounts, (door being too large for the weight of big blind) We tend to support weight as it goes up now in the hope that it takes some of the strain.Don,t think it can help if you happen to wind the wrong way either,as you end up with slack cord that can loop itself around the spool and split it.We have now put little stickers near each handle ,to remind us which way to turn in order to avoid over winding the cord. Like you every time we go out ,we come across another little problem, but we,re learning and we,re learning fast, can,t wait for September when we,re out again.wonder what little surprises we,ll have next time.!! Still looking forward to it though, pleased with how how L.T is taking shape since the new gardeners have been on board.
