Hi Everyone
We' ve been to site this morning and had a tour round the site. On approach to the site from La Tercia Village a new surface was being laid on the existing road. When we asked how far this was going, we were told that it would go all the way to the road junction at Basilicas. This will make a great difference when driving to the site along the bumpy road. We were told that this is the first layer on the road as there are still lorries being driven along it, and the top coats and widening. The site was looking great and a lot of work was taking place. UGR are still confident that the December deadline will be reached.
Regarding Dave's question about the number of Spanish residents on the development. We were told that 90 % of the owners are English and the other 10 % are made up by Spanish, Dutch etc. We are not sure if the English percentage includes the Scottish, Irish and Welsh owners. The Spanish have not grasped the Golf resort as yet, but this hopefully change in the future.
Having lived on La Torre for just over a week now, I am already starting to see how special La Tercia will be if everything turns out the way it seems to be progressing. I will hope to obtain some more info on the Golf course etc over the next couple of weeks. The grass seems to be growing now, and the greens were being mowed. The sprinklers were also in action. The water from the driving range is being used to water the course, so the level has dropped. I suppose the water that we shall use on the development will help to reinstate this.
Micheal in the show office has now got my email address and said he will update me as things happen. The company has decided to run the commercial area in house with the assistance of another company. They will decide what type of shops will be there. They said that they are trying to save residents having to leave site if they require anything. eg. food, pharmacy etc.
Though at La Torre prices in the supermarket are 3 times that of the Mercadona in San Javier.
