As you are well aware i coach at both the Escuela De Golf at San Javier and the Fairwayz Golf Academy in Dolores.
One thing that has become very evident during my time is that there are almost no golf competitions locally for junior golfers.
Yes at driving ranges there are Saturday morning training sessions but i must ask to what purpose?
Obviously it is vital to ensure that our junior golfers receive the best coaching to ensure that they have good techniques and understand etiquette and the rules.
However all that practice must have an end result, namely competition where they can track the improvement in their performance and measure their capabilities against other young golfers.
Recently i attended a junior golf tournament held at Roda which was held in conjunction with Mosa Trajectum and La Serena which was free but to say the least was extremely poorly organised.
I am also aware of the recent launch in the area of a junior golf organisation developed in the UK which aims at practice and some limited competitions, however i am aware that this failed in the UK to a certain extent due to the costs charged.
I firmly believe that we need something in between and having discussed this subject with a number of people would like to gauge the level of interest for junior golf in the area of Murcia and the Vega Baja before launching any initiative.
If you or anyone that you know have children interested in learning golf and playing in well organised competitions at affordable prices then please contact me on 966 704 752 or 661 345 931 or alternatively via my e-mail address
