No, I suppose not.

Anyway - good news on your proposed completion date for HR and that all goes well.

Hi Sam

Not in the Know but i would advise against not using a lawyer, it may be OK for the experienced purchaser and those purchasers who understands the Spanish language and all the red tape that goes with buying a property in Spain but surely not for the inexperienced buyer. Don`t forget that the lawyer should do all the searches and checks for you, also you do not need to be in Spain come completion time if you appoint your lawyer P.O.A.

Would we ever think of not using a solicitor or lawyer in the UK? :-\

Just my thoughts on the subject, perhaps someone who has been down this route maybe able to give you more information and advice.

Make sure you use a lawyer - you have got to make sure all OK - and let's face it, if you don't understand the language and customs like a native, then it has to be sensible to use a lawyer.

point taken "mum+ dad"  ok then, what it is my solicitor is about as much use as getting advice off next doors "cat" for eg the latest one they have give me said all facilities will be ready by 26 november and that the 18 hole golf course is no problem, well the same day pw told me no shopping centre untill "summer" 2008 9 holes of golf not untill january, then 9 more at easter, and I take these promises with a pinch of salt. and aldea are charging me 2000 euros for "representing" me for rquelme! so can anyone suggest another solicitor for my la tercia purchase please. who have you got mum+dad and do they charge the same as aldea, thanks for your help (thats what parents are for)  ::)
