yes they where rebuilding the promenade when we visited there last year,we thought the mar menor area looked very relaxing Eileen cannot wait to relax in the sun on the beaches.
We are new to this area so looking forward to finding out about all the resorts ,do you have any other information on best places to visit have you been to la manga what is it like.
What about the exchange rate at the moment i received a figure this morning of 1.42 do you think it will rise again?.

Hi Gary

Yes our agent did show us Almazora, but only to give us an example of what owning property on a golf resort was all about.  To be honest the day he took us there the wind was blowing at about 100mph and we wondered whether it was possible to play golf at all.  Not sure if it is always like that.  I also beleive that the airport was a good 45 minutes drive away.  We are also still awaiting an answer regarding the communal pools.  Im not sure if anyone else has heard anything yet.

Regards

Hi Dave and Valerie,

We have taken some holidays in this area for a few years now to get a bit of a feel for it. We have probably visited most beaches between Guardamar and Cabo de Palo. This summer we have a week around La Zenia and another week down at Mar de Cristal.
La Manga, is two places really! There’s La Manga Club. This is the well established complex in the hills to your right, as you drive down the 312. It has a lovely golf course! It’s also perhaps famous as a football training ground. We were sat watching the football training a couple of weeks ago. Having our lunch in one of the bars overlooking the area - very nice. Then there’s La Manga strip. Further down the 312, the road leads you into the strip. That’s all the high rise apartments you can see the other side of the Mar Menor. The strip seems to go on for ever with plenty of sets of traffic lights along the way. We have been there a couple of times out of season and there’s hardly a sole around!
Yes, the exchange rate seems quite stable. Funny how it always seems to go down just when you want to buy some. It managed to hit a low last summer, just as we had to pay our 30%.
Valerie, from what Dave has said it sounds just as well we didn’t touch Almanzora.
I gave up waiting for a call from United and contacted my agent. I am hoping to have some news this week. I will be sure to let you know what the outcome is.

Hi all,

We have just received an e-mail from Micheal at United Golf, in reply to our question regarding the communal swimming pools, his answer is:

"I have also heard this about the pools from other clients and I can tell you that the swimming pools will not be changing to fountains.  There may be fountains in the area but not at the expense of a swimming pool."

This appears to be good news to anyone that was concerned about this issue.

Valerie K,

Glad they came back to you with an answer.
However, United’s statement does not satisfy me. My issue is that the pool has moved, is a different shape and a fountain has appeared. Please see the previous posts and the plans.
Is there anyone that shares this opinion?

Gary  :)

Hi Dave,

At the end of the day I’m not sure anything can be done.
At the moment I would be happy to see a scale drawing of the final architects plans.

Hello Dave,
I have spoken to my agent today, he informed me that our property will be approx 15-20 Metres from the pool. With what seems to be the final plan. I have asked if he can supply me with some kind of copy of the architect’s scaled drawings. Will see if they materialise next week.
I do feel a bit let down. As the plan has changed from when I purchased.
Guess you could well be in the 'tenth' now Dave!
Keep an eye out for some navigation changes to the site this weekend!
Cheers
Gary  :)

Hi Gary,

Sorry to hear the answer that we got from United Golf regarding communal swimming pools hasn't cleared things up for you.  When we were shown the plans for United Golf resorts, we were in fact shown the second plans and didn't even know first plans existed until you posted them on this site.

You mention a fountain appearing but we can't seem to find this on the new plans, hope your not referring to the pool adjacent to Block 15 as this does seem to look like a fountain and it is the closest one to us.

The question we actually asked United Golf was 'There has been some talk that some communal pools shown on the site plan may be changing to fountains, is this true and if so will this effect he pool shown adjacent to M12 block 15'

If you have heard that this is in fact a fountain, please let us know and we will take this up with United Golf.

Regards
Valerie K

Hi Gary

We read the recent posts regarding the changes to the site layout with great interest.

We are purchasing a ground floor apartment in the Masters building adjacent to the swimming pool.  When we were about to pay our 30%, a few weeks ago, we were upset to notice that the garden had reduced in size from 34 sq mtrs to 19 sq mtrs and queried this with both our agent and solicitor. The developer replied that the architect had changed the garden sizes to accommodate the swimming pools.  We were informed that the plans we had been shown at La Tercia in January were for illustrative purposes and what we had now been given was the final version.

You mentioned that there was an option for ground floor apartments to enclose the utility area.  Where/how do we get further infomation on this option which we would like to take up?  Also where will the information regarding furniture packs be published, we had not heard of this.

Thank you for for posting all the replies upon your return from Spain.  Hope that you manage to resolve your problem with the swimming pool outside your block.

Hi Dave

I would suggest   IN DEBT as this will link everyone on the site.

Hi,

Pete and Fiona, sorry to hear that. It’s that illusive final version that I seek!
We have a ground floor, hence asking about the utility be closed. We were just told it would be possible.
It might be worth asking the office at what time will we be able to request options like that.
We were told that the person dealing with furniture would email us. Still waiting!

Good luck in the Grand National.  :)
