Welcome to La Tercia Golf
« on: November 28, 2005, 08:53:23 PM »
Hi,

Welcome to our forum.

Have you seen the photos, do you have any others to share?

When did you last visit the site? How was it looking?

Have they started building the golf course ?

Gary

We purchased a Masters Apartment last weekend.  We were informed that building work would not commence until May 2006 for completion in Dec 2007.

Hi Pete and Fiona,

Great to hear from you.

Do you think the entire first phase will be completed by Dec 2007?

Our completion date is also Dec, hoping to spend Christmas there.

Were you told when the first properties will be completed? I would imagine that the first phase would be available in stages.

Do you know how many Masters are still available? We bought in June and it seemed then that they were selling fast.

As you were there last week, are the show properties now ready?

Gary

Hi Gary

When I visited in September, I was under the impression that they would complete the three show villas first, then they would start on Phase One at the same time as starting the golf course, (I assume this was so that the golf course would be completed at the same time as the completion of the first properties).
I'm hoping/planning to go out there again pretty soon, (probably March or April). I know my colleague (New Member: Sugsy) is going out in March, so I'm sure he'll get some updated photos then and will post them as soon as he can.  ;D

This forum is an excellent idea. It wasn't easy to find (about 5 pages into a Google search), so I'm not sure how new members can be added, but it would be great if we could somehow spread the word among La Tercia buyers. We have bought a Tee penthouse apartment in Zone 12 Block 5.

Since signing up, we have heard so many horror stories about dodgy developers, agents and solicitors that we have wondered whether buying in southern Spain was a good idea. The Spanish Property Insight website (www.spanishpropertyinsight.com) run by Times columnist Mark Stucklin has been very useful, not least for helping us to find an excellent independent lawyer. He thought that the United Golf Resorts contract was fairer than many he had seen, but still got them to agree to a few minor changes.

One question I asked the developers was: Where will all the water come from? Drought is a big problem there, and some experts say that all the planned developments (n.b. thirsty golf courses) can't be sustained by existing water sources. I was told that they are building a desalination plant and an underground reservoir- does anyone have more information about this?

We are going out for a week in June, staying in Los Alcazares, so will visit the development and post photos to this site.

All the best,

Bill N

Hi Bill,

Glad you like the forum. Inclusion to the major search engines is not automatic. I am trying to achieve a listing in Google, it can take some time. We are however in Yahoo, MSN any many of the other smaller listings.
Yes, It would be nice to be able to spread the word and communicate with other purchasers. However, agents cannot release contact info ‘conveniently’ due to the Data Protection Act. I am sure with time, more people will find us here at Murcia Golf.
Water certainly is as big issue now. There was an article in the Costa Blanca News a couple of weeks ago concerning this problem. Wonder how it will affect United Golf’s future projects! I was also under the impression that a desalination plant was going to be built.

Cheers
Gary

Hi Gary

We just found your mail dated 29 Jan.  We have been busy signing contracts etc and are now awaiting completion.  Our agent tells us that they have started clearing the top of the site where the Masters Building is due to be built.  When we were out and agreed to buy in mid January there were 9 apartments left in the Masters building.

Glad others have found this site and it is interesting to see the latest photos etc.  We are not planning to visit  La Tercia again until the autumn/winter but will watch this site with interest.

All the best

Fiona & Pete

Hello fellow United Golf La Tercia owners - we are very excited by our purchase.  We actually put down our deposit in March 2005 when it was just a field - imagination came to the fore on this one.  The view from hill across the valley to the mountains sold us the concept and we have bought a Green penthouse in M-12 Block 4.  Good points re water as I know this has been a serious issue but I believe desalination plants must be the answer.  I like the United Golf web site with the virtual tours of the proposed interiors.  We are going out in May to stay on Mar Menor for a holiday but also to check on progress.  We look forward to hearing from any or all of you - all the best - Sandra & Allan

Hi

Sandra & Allan, I think you are my neighbors... I bought a Green penthouse in M12 block 4 (I better check on that once I get home cos I'm at work at the mo'). I'm planning to go out in April, as long as I can get the time off. Will be staying in San Pedro Del Pinatar. Hopefully the show homes have come along very well by the time I go and I have heard that they have started clearing the top hill ready to start on the apartment blocks.  :) - all the best Gareth

Hi Gareth

Nice to meet you neighbour.  My brother in law and sister in law were out end of last year viewing their purchases on El Valle and dropped in at the United site on our behalf and actually viewed the show homes (which are featured on the united web site).  They look good - and of good quality finish.  We will be out there in May and staying on Mar Menor.  We think the resort will be fab and are so looking forward to its completion (barring all the usual builder problems!).  Will be good to keep in touch and compare notes.  All the best - Sandra

Hi Guys,

My wife and I are travelling out to Murcia next Saturday 25th March. We are very much looking forward to viewing the completed show homes.
We have many questions to put to the office. If anyone has any questions they would like answered, please post them. We will be glad to ask them for you.

Hi Gary

Enjoy your trip , lucky you escaping this cold spring.

We would also be interested in how many apartments are left for sale in the Masters building - they were selling well when we were out there in January.  Likewise we will be interested to find out the latest projected figure for community charges.

Our agent tells us they have started on the golf course, it will be interesting to hear how much has been cleared.

Many thanks

Fiona & Pete
