Hi Luis. Graham says he wants to be included in the golf comp on Good Friday. 10.30 am sounds fine but you're have to give us a shout as we can never get up when we're in Spain! Lol

Hi Luis,
Count me in for the good Friday comp, I don't mind either 9 or 18 holes.

Anyway what about YOU for Captain of our Ryder Cup team this year ?

Hi Luis

Martin and Adam are interested in the golf competition on Good Friday at 10.30....they're saying 9 holes would be good....that takes most of the day anyway. lol! ;)  (however, they will go with the majority).

Thanks
Karen

Hi Golfers,

I've been meaning to post this for a while but keep forgetting.

On our November golf trip on the first tee at Campoamor I seem to remember being ridiculed for saying that preferred lies are played in Spain.

Therefore I put the question to local golf coach and golf tour operator -  Mike Probert.

"Here is Spain placing the ball or preferred lies is the norm unless it is a course that tells you otherwise or playing in a competition where they tell you other wise.

The only course I know where this simple rule doesn't apply on an on-going basis is Hacienda del Alamo."

Hi Gaz,
I assume this only applies to the fairway and not ' through the green' ?
It is not like us to ridicule you mate ! So now that's been cleared up you can now get your first good nights sleep since November.
Speak soon,
Ray

Hello Ray,

I would imagine its the fairway, its all in the name of preserving the precious grass.

Having trouble sleeping, you must mean Luis and Kris. They are worrying about Tim and I beating them again.

Hey, our club membership starts in April, we are really looking forward to that.

Hi gal,
Prefered lies doesn't mean teeing up your ball, and smashing it with a 3 wood, as I'm sure iv seen you and tim do, I'm meeting up with kris in 3 weeks, top of the agenda when we meet is your handicaps,  :D hopefully when you both join a club they will sort that problem out, ray we will also discus the return of the Ryder cup at Easter,
Not played much since Christmas but the season now starts for me,
See you all soon

Hi kris
So far we have 10 players, I'm sure we will have at least 12, jimmy I don't want to start you off again :D but kris this yr s extra special, England will be in the semis of the euros,  :D re gals and tims handicaps, they have no shame, and will probably decide on the day as they did in november :o be good to meet up again in 2 weeks, I'm playing sat and Sunday this week, hopefully I'll be ready for your comp,
All the best

Hi Kris,

Good to hear from you, we are also looking forward to the Ryder, I guarantee you will have a weekend to remember but it wont be beating us at golf.

Tim and I are waiting for our club memberships to start. So hopefully this will keep you guys happy in terms of having official handicaps. Having said that, I played the course last week and I think I'm going to need a chainsaw.....or, a higher handicap.

It would be nice if we can increase the numbers slightly, so if you want to bring along a few friends then please do.

What great golfing wheather it was here in the UK today.

See you soon
Gary

Hi kris
Yeah be good to play Friday, but god knows what our golf will be like Saturday after fri night in the bar, but this is where our season starts, Gary we have a young lad called phil, coming to the Ryder, he will be a handy player for us, he's got a handicap of 20 but he's playing 3times a week, so think he,ll do well in June, and chipy is back to gal, what's the numbers like now?
All the best
Luis
When are we going to pick our three courses?

Hello All,

Looks like theres not so many players in this years Ryder but that's not a problem, it will still be a great weekend.

So, what are your preferred courses? Would you like to see La Tercia in there for example?

The teams at present are looking like this.

Tim, Gary, Rob and Mike V's Ray, Luis, Kris and Dave

Tim and I are bringing a friend along who doesn't really play golf.....I know what you are going to say Luis - a bit like me ;D

However, he is going to play each day and I suggest that he could play in the Stableford comp but not be part of the Matchplay, unless another player joins the group. Does that sound OK?
