November Golf Tour
« on: October 01, 2011, 09:51:26 PM »
Hi All,

Luis, I'll start this  dedicated topic so as there is no confusion with the Ryder Cup. Talking of which the dates are confirmed for 2012, Tim and I booked our flights a few weeks back. I'll also post a new topic for that one....

Anyway, onto the November Golf tour. Following a great weekend last year enjoyed by Tim, Myself, Luis and Ray (Globetrotter) Verinder, we have put together what will hopfully be another great weekend with some of our pals from La Tercia.

Here are the courses;

Either Sat or Sun we will play Campoamor and Las Colinas, followed by Requelme on the Monday.

Looks like there should be 10 or 11 players on the Sat and Sunday.

I hope these courses are to your liking.... :D

Hi Gary and Luis,
We might have another couple of golfers for the November trip as my brother-in-law and a mate of ours are just checking out the flight prices, brownie points status etc prior to confirming. Will let you know as soon as I know.
Looking forward to playing these two new courses.
Speak soon,

Hi Gary and Luis,
Just to confirm the addition of the two extra golfers (Pete and Jeff) for the November trip, I think that makes thirteen so far.
Is the main event the Sat and Sun then with the Friday and Monday optional for whoever is about ?
What sort of format are we having....singles....pairs.....teams, or just an informal knock ?
Hey Lou, aren't we still 1-0 up from last year !

Hi Jimmy,

We cant wait to see the sun again either, since Tuesday the weather has turned here also. I don't mind on the format front, did you receive Luis's email about that? We really are easy.....I'll buy a load of balls if everyone is happy to chip in and that will give us something to play for?

Lets get a bit of a player list started, so we have...

Gary - Sat, Sun, Mon
Luis - Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon
Tim  - Sat, Sun, Mon
Ray - Sat, Sun
Pete - Sat, Sun
Jeff - Sat, Sun
Jimmy - Fri, Sat, Sun
Brian - Fri, Sat, Sun
Dave - Fri, Sat, Sun
Dick - Fri, Sat, Sun
Frans - Sat, Sun, Mon
Rob G - Sat, Sun, Mon
Larry - Sat, Sun
David - Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon

The plan is to play Campoamor and Las Colinas on the Sat and Sun - Sat tee approx 1p.m. Sun tee no later than 12.30. Is that OK with everyone?

Then leave Riqueleme until Monday and perhaps play at 12a.m. so those flying home have plenty of time.

I understand that everyone above can play all three days with the possible exception of David who may not play Monday?

Golf green fee quote at the moment.
Campoamor - €44 that's not including a buggy which is €27 and insurance is €1.5
Las Colinas - €49 inc a buggy, insurance €1.5. This price still has to be confirmed
Riqueleme - €44 inc a buggy, insurance €3. This price still has to be confirmed

Anyone is welcome to join us, due to us wanting to make a firm booking we will have a cut off date of a week from today, so that's 12th Oct, please to let us know ASAP if you want to join us.

Cheers
Gary

Hi Gary
Its David Roberts from m22, & hes now confirmed hes playing the 4 rounds, fri to monday, its jimy g & his lads that would prob prefer to tee off say 12.30 sunday because they are flying home the sunday at 7.45, but im not sure where from?
re the format, only my opinion, that txt i sent you boys today could probably be a bit confusing especially with hangovers ;) so i suggest the usual nearest to the pins & longest drives, singles stapleford, & a yellow ball comp, each group has a yellow ball, every player takes a turn in using it, & when you score with it, its double points for the team, but when you loose it, game over, the group to score more points with the yellow ball wins, simples ;D like gal said just ideas, not long now,
All the best

hi guys,

our flight home on the sunday is from murcia so we have a bit of time on our hands. As far as the tee offs for sunday 12.30 would be good for us it would give us plenty of time to get packed and away. It would be great if we could get the numbers up to 15 or 16 then it would make the comps easier to work out.  all the best

Hi Luis,
Don't want to shatter the illusion mate, but the bars and the golf course were for Val, I was looking for a monastery that  does a cookery and soft-furnishings course for me.
Speak soon.
