Hi Mike,
When our place is ready at La Tercia UGR and we start using it early next year it is my intention to buy an additional set of clubs and equipment and leave them in Spain to save the inconvienience of transporting them over each time and paying the additional baggage charges which now amount to approx £30 for a return journey.
With this in mind I wonder whether it will be cheaper to make the purchases in the UK or in Spain ? For example would you know the cost of a full set of Ping Rapture steel shafted irons in Spain.
Your views would be appreciated.
Regards,
Ray

Hi Ray

Thanks for making contact and my apologies for the delay in replying.

I have yet to see a set of Ping Rapture clubs in Spain.

Most of the local pro shops have a poor expensive selection and the golf warehouses seen to go for the stack them high sell them cheap type of club with only a few better known golf clubs.

I actually bought my own clubs back in the UK and brought them here,so i suppose that answers your question.

To satisfy yourself, perhaps you could visit one of the golf warehouses when you are next in Spain.

Regards
Mike

Hi Mike, is there a way of getting cheaper golf, like a Portuguese passport, visitors temp membership, or 2 for 1 vouchers.
The green fees are really high, and the most expensive part of a break. I fear that like Portugal the high cost will make golfers look elswhere

Lee

There are a number of ways to find golf which is a little more affordable although probably still higher than most golfers expectations.

Firstly is to join a golf society here in Spain because numbers of 20 players or more attract a discount.

Secondly is to play golf in the low season periods which are usually mid-June to mid-September and then January and February when most golf is approx 50% less and often with free buggies.

Mike
