we have just returned from Spain to complete on HR faze 1
we Will not be living on site it will be a holiday home for us.
from what we saw last week i think it will be a long time
before it will be up and running. the apartment is ready, but we must now wait for
the unitlites to be connected, we have been told it could be up to 8wk
we are members of Polaris world owners club, (this is a very good service) a representative from
the owner's club picked us up at the hotel on wed morn, she took us to the Polaris world HQ
From there someone took us to Murcia police station to collect our N.I numbers.
we were then taken back to HQ, from there we were taken to view the property for a snagging visit.
we have bought a 2bed second floor apartment, i was a little disappointed at the size of the bedrooms,
i thought they would have been bigger. after the snagging visit i was given a bunch of fresh flowers and my husband was given a golf umbrella.
That was useful as it rained for the two days we were busy sorting things out.

The next day we were taken to sign the deeds, then onto  (Je Ne Sais Quoi) an interior design company
recommended by PW.  they gave an excellent service with good quality furniture, we bought everything we needed to furnish  the apartment total cost 13,150 euros. we got a voucher from PW of 2,000 euros
and a further 1,000 euros from (Je Ne Sais Quoi) total cost to us 9,650 euros very good value..

the site is still under construction there should be an 18 hole golf course but it is temporary to be a 9 hole course so it can be used.
a lot of work still to be done the centre will be about 2yrs to complete.although we should be able to use the appartment for around xmas time, there will not be much to do on site.

well its now march 08 we signed  for our apartment in Oct 07 and we are still waiting. :o
Has anyone actually moved into their apartment yet on H/R ? ::)
Our furniture should have gone in in Jan but the keys went missing from P/W site office,
the last persons in the apartment when they connected the utilities returned the keys to the wrong site  office thus causing a major search for lost keys.
They were eventually found  but due to the delay we lost our slot for furniture fitting,
we have been given another date 10th April so we might make it sometime this summer if we are lucky
if there is anyone out there please can you give us a progress report, is anything happening out there?

Hi Freda

We know of a couple of friends who have taken occupancy of their apartments and also had them furnished.
Have you spoken to your agent re the delays.

Hi Everyone
I have just found this site so it's great to know we can voice opinions and get feedback.  We have bought on phase 2 of HR and were handed the keys when we arranged our visit in November 07.  Yes we feel the apartments are small but have convinced ourselves that they will be adequate for our needs!  It's just great that all the apartments overlook the golf course and there is such a feeling of space compared to many of the urbanizaciones in Spain.  We ordered our furniture from HomeStyle, part of Polaris, in January and it has all be delivered and checked - took about 7 weeks.  The utilities didn't seem to take that long either. We are going over on 9 April with two toddlers and staying for a week so will let you all know how things are progressing.
Does anyone know of a reliable electrician we could use?

Hi everyone

well we are finally going to stay in our apartment on H/R phase 1 for the first time on 7th June.
we got the keys in October 07 after a long delay
we had the snagging visit only minor problem to be solved 5Min's of a job.
The the utility's were sorted, then the problems started.
we ordered and paid for our furniture in October, we were assured  it would be installed in January 08,
When je se Quoi arrived on site to do the installation P/W refused to hand over the keys even though permission had been left for them to enter the property for this purpose.
Two more attempts were made, each time they were refused entry, it then emerged that P/W had lost the keys to our apartment. after much messing about, phone calls, emails & faxes P/W changed the locks on the apartment.
We are told the furniture is being installed this wk, lets hope so because we have booked flights to go out on the 7th June.
Has anyone been to stay on site? is there anything we need to know before we get there.
do we need to hire a car? are there any shops? is anything  going on on the site

Hi Freda & Peter,

Some info that i hope helps you, do you know if your utilities are connected yet?, if not make sure you contact P.W. soon to arrange something for you so that you have water, electricity. Would not like you to get to site and find you have no water, electricity :(

email address for customer service customerservices@polarisworld.com

Swimming pools are due to be filllied soon i believe, a temporary shop is now open for groceries etc, you will need to hire a car to get about if you want to visit the Mar Menor beaches, local markets etc , unless you just want a relaxing holiday on H.R.

At the moment nothing going on at the site, hopefully when you are over you will meet up with a few more fellow haciendens  ;D

Hi All
We have just returned from spending our first 2wks in our apartment on H/R
we have waited 2yrs since we singed up for this with lots of set backs along the way.
It was an adventure from landing at the airport. right until we arrived back home.
it was the first time i have driven a car abroad before :o
It took us 4 & 1/2 hrs to find the site, got lost, went up hill, down dale & round hundreds of roundabouts.
don't think the Spanish like road signs, it was day light when we started out but went dark the more we got lost, after several hrs we stopped at what we thought was a night club to ask for directions?
(it turned out to be a brothel)  :-[   eventually we arrived at H/R at 11pm the guard at the gate did not speak english. its no use having your plot number they have now numbered the blocks and if you do not know your block number you have no chance of finding it.
We asked a couple walking back to their apt did they know were (block 80) was ? they said they did not have a clue, they said that when they had first arrived they slept rough on the grass as they could not find their apt They also said that they had met someone who had spent the night in his car because  he could not find his apt. Just then a security man came by in a car we stopped him, he could not speak english either, we showed him the map were our apt was, he gestured to follow him, it was a good job we did as we would never have found it without him.
We were shattered and went to bed as soon as we got in and left everything until the morning

Next morning we found that the wrong furniture had been delivered, >:
This had only taken them 9 months to get right and they had still not done it.
we left yesterday and after 2wks of phone calls we have still not got the furniture that we ordered.

The site was a disappointment, there are no facilities available as promised, they have only just started  to put water in a few of the pools as there is a dispute about water in the region.

The bar is a little wooden hut, as is the shop, you defo need a car as there is nothing to do on site unless you like golf. the weather was very hot, i have been burnt and bitten with mozzies whilst there.

There was a meeting about community charges whilst we were there and an election of presidents one for each block  ::)   P/W have handed over the maintenance of the site to a management company, it was asked at the meeting why P/W had not had quotes from different companies to do they work but there was no ans to that, thus the high cost of community charges.
I am not so sure about this arrangement but we will have to wait and see :-\
we have a 2 bed apt and have been informed that our community charge would be approx 1,600 euro per yr, they will all be back dated from January 08

I do feel very sorry for owners depending on rental to cover mortgages as it will be hard to rent at the moment.  >:(
