Fairwayz Golf Academy Opens. Mike Probert the well-known golf columnist in the Coastrider newspaper and Golfers Link magazine in conjunction with Pete Bonsor of the Fairwayz Golf & Sports bar announce the creation and opening of the Fairwayz Golf Academy in Dolores off junction 737 of the AP7.
The facility in Avenida Alcalde Jose Rodriguez, Dolores, already boasts a state of the art 75,000 FULLSWING golf simulator allowing you to play up to 41 different golf courses from all over the world including St Andrews, Valderrama, Belfry, Pinehurst and Pebble Beach in all modes of scoring including Texas scramble, skins, better ball, foursomes, etc.
The equipment also includes a virtual driving range where you can analyse all the technical aspects of your game providing you with exact yardage, ball speed and launch angle feedback.
The area is fully air-conditioned and the bar and food are never more than 3 metres away as are all your playing partners making this a very social way of keeping your swing in tune.
Although the simulator caters for up to 8 players at a time they recommend a 4 ball for full enjoyment and the cost of this is 20 per hour or 5 each per hour and the average round time is 50 minutes per person.
In addition to his role as a local golf columnist Mike Probert is also a golf psychology advisor and has a teaching post at the Escuela de Golf in San Javier where he uses techniques developed over a successful amateur career where he played with and against world greats such as Sandy Lyle, Ian Woosnam and Lee Westwood.
Mike believes that the immediate feedback given by the simulator is an ideal addition to the services that he can give to clients following a course of tuition and had no hesitation in accepting the role of Director of Golf and Head Coach within the newly formed golf academy with tuition charges from as little as 25 per hour.
