Master Door keys
« on: August 29, 2010, 10:28:56 AM »
Hi All,

Just to advise everybody that UGR still have master keys to everybody's apartments !

We received an email last year from UGR to say that we had 3 weeks to collect the master keys or they would be taken away and destroyed. We visited site about 4 months after this email and went to see Nigel hoping that they still had our key. We were informed UGR didn't have the key and they had been sent away to be destroyed!

Whilst on site 2 weeks ago, I was in the apartment semi naked (no jokes please) to find 2 men walking into my apartment. They had a large bunch of door keys, and had been sent to check on the solar panels. When I questioned how they had a key to my apartment, they informed me they had got them from UGR !!!

We went to the club house the next day and asked for the key from John Berne who duly went to a cupboard and gave us the key. There must have been a few hundred keys in the cupboard. When questioned why UGR didn't have the common courtesy to email owners to inform them the keys had infact not been destroyed, we got the usual spiel  of proverbial  ::) ::)

We will be having our locks changed when we return, like others have advised. Our concern was as far as we were aware nobody apart from ourselves (hopefully) had a spare key to the apartment. We leave money, credit cards and valuable items in draws and on tables in the apartment when on site, this we now feel very uneasy with.

We did suggest to John Berne that he should improve on communication skills and advise all owners that UGR still have a key. I hope he does.

Regards

Janice and Martin.

We have an apartment on phase II and to be honest the very first thing we did was change the front door lock, and we did not use anybody on UGR to do this. If anybody does want a front door lock with all sets of keys for a cheap price let me know.

Dear Client,

We are writing with regards to the entrance door key to your property, which was retained by the constructor upon the signing of the title deeds for your property.

Please be advised the key is now available to be collected from the United Golf Resorts Aftersales office in La Tercia, if you have not already taken possession of it.

Noting this it is requested you please organise for the key to be collected prior to January 1st 2010.

If you would like a third party to collect the key on your behalf please write to us nominating the chosen person and to confirm your authorisation for this person.

Should you have already changed the locks to your property or do not wish to collect the key from us, it is requested you please write to inform us of this.

It should be noted that after the 1st of January 2010 all keys not reclaimed will, for security measures, be destroyed.

Yours sincerely,

United Golf Resorts

Aftersales Department

Janice and Martin,

The prior communication you refer to is above.

That is quite worrying, there must be quite a few properties who have not changed their locks.

UNITED WE GOLF     Would you like your own web site? Please email me for further information.

We changed our locks a fortnight ago and to be honest it finally set our mind at rest as we know that access was being given to maintenance without our knowledge. realisin that works need to be undertaken we still expect a degree of control to be managed more so when owners are not there... and for a realtively small cost in changing the locks it was the best thing for us to do. ;D
