Wardrobe Doors
« on: August 23, 2010, 05:25:39 PM »
Is it just me, or is anyone else having constant trouble with their sliding (or non-sliding) wardrobe doors ?
Ours are forever coming of the bottom rails, stiff, noisey and generally a pain in the b......
.....bedrooms.
I think we have a basic design problem here in that the bottom runner is fixed to the inside face of the door and not to the centre of the bottom which would distibute the load.
With such heavy doors, especially the large ones in the master bedroon the sheer weight of the doors is buckling the metal that hold the bottom runner.
Has anybody changed these doors or come up with a cunning plan yet to alleviate this problem ?
And before anyone says it.... the Screw-Fix catalogue does not have the answer!
Regards,
Ray

Hello Ray,
You are not alone......we have the same problem with the wardrobe doors, our bottom metal runners have buckled too. We took the runners off and hammered them back into place but are going to try Leyroy Merlin for a more permanent solution when we are next over.
