Important Golf News
« on: May 01, 2010, 07:19:47 AM »
In the world's press you will have seen that the Polarisworld organisation has some serious financial issues.

As a result of these financial problems they have had to take some important decisions in terms of the golf courses and the following announcement has just been officially made by them.

The Nicklaus Golf Trail will now consist of the following courses:
a) La Torre
b) El Valle
c) Hacienda Riquleme

The other courses at Alhama Signature and Mar Menor will now be managed independently by a new owner details of whom are still to be announced.

However any existing bookings at these courses will be honoured by the new owners.

While these changes are enforced by the economic crisis there should be a benefit for golfers because availability of these courses is secured and they should become more competitive offering lower prices to the public.

Thanks for the info Mike.

Really enjoyed playing Hacienda Riquelme last year.

I must say I was more than a little disappointed (if the press are to be believed), to hear that Jack Nicklaus was requesting that his name be removed from and disassociated with Polaris once they were in trouble. Didn't think that he was the type of character to take their money and then try to jump ship once it hit the iceberg.
