Hi all its 'Q here
« on: January 09, 2007, 07:11:27 PM »
Hi all,

My name is 'Q' and ive been invited along to your forum by the good folk who spend much time and effort trying to manage and gather as much useful information for you guys as possible. I too will be adding little snippets of information to your 'fancy forum' from time to time.

I am lucky enough to live and work within the industry here in this beautiful region of Spain and have gained some very useful contacts along the way  ;)

I will be doing my best to keep you informed of any significant goings on in the area or certainly anything that i guess might be of interest to you. Some things will be property related, some things will just be part of local news within the region and others......well maybe some of the other stuff will be light hearted too.

As an example of the sort of thing i will be bringing to you, Polaris World have recently announced that their once 'owners only' Golf Resorts of 'Mar Menor' and the more recently opened 'La Torre' are now open to the public - well, at least until the 28th February 2007.
They have just announced that it will be possible to book your green fees over the phone or by e-mail, then turn up and play 18 holes of golf on courses that were once the pleasure of owners only....and here's the best bit - The cost of 18 holes and a free meal is going to be '32.50€ @ La Torre and 27.50€ @ Mar Menor'.
Now that represents good value to me and a bit of clever thinking on their part as im sure it will only generate more interest among the golfing communities once word gets about like it usually does.

Oh, and just before i go i don't know if its a bit of Pr by Polaris to give a bit back to any disgruntled owners (not that they should be disgruntled, after all it would be a crime for such fantastically designed courses not to be played more often) they have just announced that they have at last found the perfect piece of land to build their new 'Roda Golf like' Beach Club at La Manga. The project will contain amongst other things a Mediterranean cuisine restaurant, a coffee shop and a gym. They will provide a transport service throughout the day from the local town of San Javier to the Beach Club.

I will let you know when i know more !

That's your lot for now and i hope to be back soon,

Q.
 ;)

Hi Q

Welcome and many thanks for the info regarding golf at Polaris World Mar Menor.  We have rented a villa there for the month of February and looked at the golf prices and thought no way or at least not very often.  However it is now definately on for lots of reasonably priced golf for us. Great.

Looking forward to more news from you

Fiona and Pete   ;D

Hello again,

Firstly i would like to say a big thanks to those of you who have been in touch to welcome me to the forum.

I will attempt over the coming months to keep you all informed about many subjects with more of a focus on the property side of things. The advice will be honest and practical.

I cannott stress enough how important it is if you are in any doubt about things such as contracts, bank guarantees, fund transfers, reputable companies etc that you seek the proffessional advice of your lawyer.

Hi Pete and Fiona,

You may like to know that only the first 9 holes have been completed at Mar Menor Golf which means anyone wanting to play 18 must do the first 9 holes back to back - so you go around again. Not the end of the world and still a bargain at 27.50€ with a meal.

La Torre on the other hand was recently completed so you will get to play all 18 holes and enjoy the superb new clubhouse for your meal.

Hope you enjoy them both.

Hi Bernie & Annette

Welcome to the Forum and let's hope you choose La Tercia - United Golf Resorts - a wonderful choice if I say so myself.

If you need assistance on golf course memberships or advice, ask our resident Golf coach and pyschologist, Mike Probert - I am sure he can give you all the help you need in this respect.  He has his own board on the Forum and would welcome your enquiries.

If you have any other queries, then Q is your man!

Best regards

WHO IS "Q"?

Hi All Murcia-Golf Forum members

As most of you know, for some time now, we have been benefitting from the services of our very own  "mystery shopper".  Some of you have queried the identity of this mystery person and we have maintained a dignified silence on that issue! This was mainly because of two reasons - Q wished to remain anonymous and we thought that it would add more interest to what was being revealed on the Forum.  This also ensured that he remained neutral to our members but also to the matters he was reporting on, especially when it concerned sensitive information about the developments in which we are involved.  I know you will join us in saying that Q has been extremely helpful both on Forum and privately to individual members off Forum during his involvement with www.Murcia-Golf.co.uk.

However, we are glad to say that Q now wishes to "come clean" and reveal his identity to one and all.

Therefore, it gives us great pleasure to reveal that"Q" is none other Mr Rob Watchorn of Clearwater Properties SL.  We know that Rob will be more than happy to continue with his advisory services to both the Forum and to individual members so we look forward to more of the same please Rob!

If you have any queries or questions then please do not hesitate to either contact the moderators or Rob directly.  His email address is rob@buyingspanishproperty.net or he can be contacted via the Forum - rob@murcia-golf.co.uk

"Q"  is gone, Long Live Rob!

Thanks to all those who have been in touch and i hope that you have enjoyed the benefits of local, HONEST and genuine information on all of the topics that you have contacted me about.
I look forward to being able to continue to help out where i can and look forward to meeting many of you at La Tercia some time soon.

Thanks also to the moderators for allowing me to provide the information for their members.

Long may it continue so that the seedy and miss-guided, miss-informed side of the Spanish Property market should become a thing of the past...... we hope.

Thanks Again

'Q' .......... oops, Rob.

Hi All,

I called into the sales office the other day to get some answers to a couple of questions that some of you had asked me over the last couple of weeks and here are the answers :

Hi Sandra,

I managed to get to the sales office at Le Tercia yesterday with some clients and whilst they were looking inside the villas i stayed in the office to ask a couple of your questions.....

1. A major Property Agent based out here which has just started its own TV channel claims that there will be a shuttle bus to the beach!
This will only become a service IF all of the residents vote, agree and then pay for the service. Its not going to happen for various reasons which i guess is no real surprise.

2. The second nine holes of Golf - The land is already owned by the developer (someone has got there wires crossed again). The license is a done deal once the elections are completed.

3. They have no idea where the solar panels are going on the roof terraces ? well, at least the girl i spoke to didn't know. She promised that she would find out and e-mail the info to me ? I will wait and see.

4. Utilities will be connected already and will just need to be switched on which should happen as soon as each client completes at the notary or thereabouts. It sounds like they are going to try and do as some of the other developers have done for ease of connection.

I hope that bit of info helps for now.

Regards

Rob.
