The Ryder Cup
« on: November 30, 2009, 03:59:43 PM »
Hi,

We have arranged a golf tour for next year which seems to have been tagged with the title of the Ryder Cup. It started with myself and a group of friends visiting La Tercia this year on a golf weekend, on returning we re-booked and having told Luis, he is joining us next year, bringing a team from London to form our own East V's West golf comp.

This last weekend two players form each team visited the site for a preliminary round of golf. However, the London team were unable to make Friday, consequently and I think rather unfairly they paid Bob and Kush to get Tim and I rather drunk on Friday evening. Everyone who saw us the following day will confirm that we were not physically up to playing golf, even at 1.30 in the afternoon. We then allowed Luis and Jason to beat us in a matchplay comp on La Tercia.

I'd like to apologise for our state Friday evening, we cant remember who we saw or spoke to exactly. We cant even remember how we found our way back to the apartment ::)

One thing we do remember is we had a great weekend, it was really nice to see everyone again.

We played another round of golf on Sunday at Lo Romero and it poured down with rain, so Tim and I let Luis win again :-[

Big Gaz and everyone....make sure you book your team in for the Ryder Cup 2010,  June 24th - 28th  :D ;)

Hi Gary,
Sounds like you had a good time both on and off the course.
Just a couple of preliminary questions, how many players will make up a team and what format will the comp take ?
Regards,
Ray

Hi Gary. Its good that you still trying to improve on your golf. But whats with the excuses and letting Luis beet you. ;)
I am trying to get together a 4 for that week but it falls into a holiday season up here and some of my mates are going away then.
Is there any other Scots looking to make up a 4, Jimmy G !
Is the Stig getting a Scouse team together.

Hi Ray,

There are five in our group and I believe Luis has four or five. The main thing is to get booked up at this stage, when we have a better idea of final numbers we can sort out a suitable format.

The intention is to play golf Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Possibly on Lo Romero, Roda, La Torre and El Valle. We all arrive on the Thursday evening. You don't have to commit to all the golf, just play on one of the days if you wish. Everyone is welcome.

The guys from London like drinking half's and going to bed early.....don't worry Ray you can join us :D

Hi all you golfers
Thought you might want to know the F1 European GP is on in Valencia on the 27 June so if anyone decides they want a bit of excitement rather than a nice sedate round of golf (only kidding) Valencia is the place to be!

Hi
What is going on here with the AGM. Surely the obvious sequence of meetings is as Dave has suggested. The points made in all his previous postings on this subject have not been adequately explained. It seems that we don't even know who is responsible for setting the timetable. Is it the presidents or the administrators? Going on past performance the administrators do not instill much confidence in their ability to manage our affairs or answer our questions with any degree of accuracy. I do know for certain that all the area presidents have not agreed on this at all. Personally I think its time for a change of administrators. There have been two presentations from alternative administration  companies who came across as being very professional, are cheaper and included in the price is the pursiut of non payers. Why do we have to complicate everything. Let common sense prevail and keep the costs down without compromising quality.

Gaz maybe this time we can get a drink together as we keep missing each other by the odd day here & there last time it was hello & cheerio at the airport car park .
