Unfortunately there are hundreds of UK cars in Spain that are not legal as the law is that you can use the car for 6 months before you have to change over to Spanish plates

These cars are often not insured, MOT´d and are the favorite transport for Morocans as they don´t register them and they are untraceable

Some people take their cars out of the country every 6 months to bypass this and keep the paperwork

You can get an English car MOT´d the term is an ITV

I actually transferred a UK car onto Spanish plates, cost me around €900 including the required changes to the headlights and a new tyres as in Spain the brands on each axle must match for the MOT

They do regularly stop and impound English cars where you cannot prove how long the car has been in Spain
