Worth checking out ( i think they will be ) if the social centre or the wine bar in the village are showing the game, i am sure the atmosphere will be something else.  You can bet there will be some dancing in La Tercia village on Sunday, should Spain win the world cup

Just got back from UGR and feeling more positive.  Had a lovely two weeks of wall to wall sunshine, made numerous friends, learnt how to play bowls (thank you Vincent), had a go at knocking some golf balls into the water of which I was pathetic and enjoyed a lovely meal with residents and owners of UGR.  However, what really topped it for me was last Sunday, at a charge of 3 euros, they had an artist playing at the Golf Club called Karen Noble.  She is a fantastic singer, not only did she belt out all the oldies, Dusty Springfield, Connie Francis etc. and the good old "girlie songs" such as, I will survive, Car Wash and many more but she also sang some Opera - fantastic.  As a mum of two teenage girls,  who will not come to UGR (too quite, no Commercial Centre, no night life etc.) I now have hope that if more events such as this are up and coming I might be in with a bit of a chance to get them over.  They would have loved it.  On the other hand, I have just had a lovely, very quiet and relaxed two weeks with the hubby, perhaps I better not tell them

Hi All

Just back last Wed after 21 days at our apartment.    Alasdhair had first 7 days with his friend, Clive, when they went to the European GP in Valencia and had a great day. I went out on the 30th and Al and I had 7 days then I was joined by my friend, Margaret, for the last 7 days.  It really made us appreciate our Place in the Sun when we heard all the positive (and envious) comments our visitors made and reinforced our decision to complete last July when, to be honest, we had a bit of a "will we, won't we" moment!!   
It is good to see M20 filling up and we meet new people - and make new friends - each time we are out!
We are back out the 2nd week in Sept (sorry can't make it to the "do") and again in October and we are counting the days .
To anyone just completing now - I am sure you will have no regrets although it would be a tremendous boost if there was more progress in the commercial centre.
We have also made friends among the residents and found them very helpful if you have any query re places to eat, visit etc.
Having left 40o+ to come home to 18o and rain was a shock to the system so all you lucky people still out there - no moaning about the heat!!!!

Yeah,  you are spot on. Couple of years back I sold her an apartment on a  new up and coming development .

She had a bandage on because the apartment next to hers had fallen down. She was not happy as there were no shops open and she said there was mud all over the roads.

Well,  I told her to see after sales ASAP as we don't accept hassle like that in the UK....
